The Old Dominion Line opened with Kings Dominion on May 3, 1975, offering a journey through the scenic Virginia woods on an authentic live steam train. The railroad featured two Crown 4-4-0 propane fired 36" locomotives, each with its own set of six coaches.

The Old Dominion Line ended operations in 1994 when the two trains were sold and the tracks removed.
 
Engine #552 named the Stonewall Jackson was painted orange and featured a diamond stack. After almost twenty years at Kings Dominion it was sold to Camp Dry Gulch in Adair, Oklahoma. In 2020 it was destined to go to Worlds of Fun renamed "Levi" as a temporary replacement for their engine, #19 "Ely" while it's out for service. 
 

   
Engine #601 named the Patrick Henry was painted blue and featured a balloon stack. After almost twenty years at Kings Dominion it was sold to Busch Gardens Tampa where it operates today as part of the Trans Veldt Railway.
