One of the highlights of the 2005 season at Six Flags Great Adventure has been the renewed emphasis on landscaping throughout the park.

For many years the bushes were allowed to become overgrown, and flower beds neglected compared to their former beauty.   The new head of the park's landscaping department has done an amazing job, beginning with last year's amazing FrightFest.   She came to the park from Six Flags Darien Lake which was one of the best landscaped parks I have ever visited.   Several times I have seen her working around the park this season directing her team, and working right along side them planting, weeding and making the park look great!

With each season, the flowers are changed, and always look amazing.   These pictures are all of the Summer plantings, but the spring beds were equally beautiful and colorful.

The original philosophy of Warner LeRoy, the visionary who created Great Adventure was to create a park that made use of and enhanced the natural surroundings.   He told the New York Times in an interview  "You want to blend the natural elements and the animals with a sense of the fantastic.  A fantasy world with its roots in nature.  When we do a roller coaster, it's not only a thrill ride, it goes along the lake and through the trees, it's an experience in nature."

With the amazing jungle landscape of The Golden Kingdom and the renewed emphasis on landscaping, the park is once again the natural beauty that Warner LeRoy envisioned 31 years ago.
