"Rootin'
Tootin' Rip Roarin'/Frontier Adventures" The park's Western-Themed section, originally known as Rootin' Tootin' Rip Roarin' featured larger than life buildings, including the Super Teepee, Fort and Conestoga Wagon as well as the most thrilling and popular rides in the park. The park's first roller coaster, the Runaway Mine Train runs through the woods and over the lake with it's station in a giant fort, which is also home to the skyride. The Log flume was the longest in the world when it opened in 1974, and has been one of the most popular attractions in the park since the day it opened. Also featured is Best of the West, one of the three large original restaurants in the park, which also remains popular with guests today. The western menu and lakeside dining are a treat on a day at the park. Little has changed since the section opened
with the exception of the addition of Medusa in 1999, and a name change to
Frontier Adventures. At the time of the name change, the adjacent Hernando's
Hideaway section was incorporated and remained part of Frontier
Adventures until the end of the 2005 season. Rootin' Tootin'
